Heidi Talbot
Having cut her teeth as lead singer with Irish American all-female outfit Cherish The Ladies, Heidi Talbot is right at home in the twin worlds of Irish traditional and roots music. But with a voice described by New York alternative newspaper The Village Voice as "exquisite - Bjork combined with Enya" and years gigging in New York, recording in Nashville and recording with indie and alt. folk artists like Idlewild, Kris Drever and Radiohead drummer Phil Seway, Talbot is more than a 'traditional' Irish folk singer.
Her new album, The Last Star, her third as a solo artist after leaving Cherish The Ladies, is to be released in October.
A regular at The Met, Heidi will be performing with Met favourites John McCusker, a highly regarded traditional musician, and Boo Hewerdine, successful solo artist and writer to the stars.
