The Met is a small, busy performance venue located in the heart of Bury, 20 minutes on the tram from Manchester city centre. The Met’s wide-ranging programme offers everything from traditional music to rock, classic theatre to the latest improvisational drama to family-oriented shows, with performances to delight both adults and children alike. The Met is committed to offering first class live entertainment and welcoming visitors to this friendly venue.

Box Office Opening Hours:
In Person: The ticket office is open Mon - Wed from 10am - 9pm, Thu and Fri from 10am - 5pm, Saturdays 10am - 4pm, and one hour before the start of each show.
By Phone: Just call 0161 761 2216. If you have a query outside of opening hours, there is a twenty four hour answer machine - we will get back to you.

Access & Facilities:

The Met is a fully accessible venue, both on its ground and first floors.

The main entrance is fully ramped with a lift to the main theatre and accessible toilet facilities.

We have staff permanently on hand to help. Should you require a personal escort, we can supply that person with a free ticket.

A magnetic induction loop for hearing aid users is used in the Main Theatre for the majority of our events.

Guide dogs are welcome, and water can be provided upon request.

We want your visit to The Met to be a first class experience. If you have any special requirements call us on 0161 761 2216 to let us know, and we'll do our best to help.

Facilities for blind and visually impaired people:

Braille panels situated by the disabled toilets
Level access - Ramp to front door allows easy wheelchair access to the studio theatre. There is also a lift available for access to the upstairs theatre.

Access for mobility impaired people:

Flat level access - Ramp to front door and studio theatre, lift to upper floors.
Wheelchair accessible - Ramp to front doors and to studio theatre; low level counter, automatic doors; lift to upper floors; 8 wheelchair spaces available in the upstairs theatre and six in the studio theatre.
Seating areas available - in bar, foyer and both theatres.

Directions

By tram
Bury's Metrolink terminus is just a few hundred yards from The Met. You can catch the tram to Bury from Manchester or from anywhere along the Altrincham line. From Bury’s Metrolink station, walk through the bus station north along Market Street.

Purchase your Metrolink travel voucher in advance when you buy your event tickets  and enjoy significant savings on travel from any station on the Metrolink service.  Vouchers are valid after 9.30am until end of service and cost £3 for adults  and £1.50 for children. You can buy these at our box office when you purchase your event ticket.

By bus
All Bury Town Centre buses terminate at the bus station. From the bus station walk just a few hundred yards north towards The Met along Market Street.

By car
There is on-street parking in Silver Street and Bolton Street, where there is also a car-park next to the East Lancs Railway.

..VIA THE M66 Exit the M66 at "Bury A58" (Junction 2). (The M66 connects Rossendale, Blackburn  and Burnley with the motorway network at the M62/M60 Junction 18.)

...VIA THE A58 FROM M66 / ROCHDALE From the junction with the  M66, follow signs for the East Lancs Railway. At the third roundabout, turn left onto Angouleme Way (Bury's inner ring road), then turn  right at the third traffic lights junction into Haymarket Street. Turn left into  Moss Street, following the one way system, then right into Silver Street and second  left into Bolton Street.

...VIA THE A58 FROM BOLTON At Bury Bridge (a multi-lane dual  carriageway), stay in the left-hand lane,  then follow signs to Bury Town Centre and the East Lancs Railway. You will approach  the town centre via Bolton Street.

...VIA THE A56 FROM MANCHESTER AND PRESTWICH Manchester's  Deansgate becomes Bury New Road (A56) as you travel north towards  Prestwich and over the M60 to Whitefield, then Manchester Road when you pass through  Whitefield and onwards towards Bury. After passing Holy Cross College and the Waterloo public house on the right, follow the signs for Bury Town Centre, turning  right at the traffic lights and then immediately left into Silver Street.

...VIA THE A56 FROM ROSSENDALE Follow the signs to Bolton at the  A56(A58) junction, turning right onto the dual carriageway. Pass Tesco's (on your right) and take the next left turn, then turning  sharp left into Bolton Street, towards the East Lancs Railway.
