With three floors of contemporary art galleries, three screens showing the best of independent cinema, a bar, café and a bookshop, Cornerhouse is one of the UK’s leading arts venues and a great place to catch up on culture, whether you have an hour to spare or a whole afternoon.
Visit the cinema for a film programme ranging from the latest in world cinema to re-releases of classic movies. Or, check out contemporary art in the Cornerhouse Galleries, which show a rolling programme of innovative exhibitions throughout the year. A variety of accompanying events and educational activities provide opportunities to learn more about art and film. And Cornerhouse’s Bar and Café are a great place for a drink and a bite to eat before catching a film, visiting an exhibition, or simply watching the world go by.

Opening Times & Admission Information
Admission to Cornerhouse is free of charge as are all exhibitions. Film screenings are charged at £5.50 (before 17:00) and £7.50 (after 17:00). Concessions are available to students, senior citizens, people with disabilities and the unemployed. Proof will be required when purchasing or collecting tickets - students require a photograph ID student card with expiry date to qualify for discounts. A 30p booking fee will be charged per credit card transaction under £5.00 when purchased at Box Office. Prices for other events and special screenings may vary.

Access & Facilities
Facilities for blind and visually impaired people:
- The Monthly Listings calendar is available in large print and audio CD from Box Office.
- Level access - all floors can be accessed by a customer lift.
Facilities for deaf, deafened and hearing impaired people:
- A BSL interpreted tour is arranged for most exhibitions taking place at Cornerhouse and advertised in Cornerhouse's main listings.
- When available, Cornerhouse programme caption subtitled screenings of films.
- Customers with hearing difficulties can request information by text message on 07716 336 743, and a member of staff will text back a response as soon as possible.
- Induction loop/Infrared system is installed in all cinema screens.
Access for mobility impaired people:
- Flat level access at main entrance.
- Ramp access to Cinemas 1 & 3 and wheelchair lift to Cinema 2. Level floors in all galleries with lift access to all floors.
- Ground floor and 1st floor café bar seating areas.
- Low-level counters at the box office.
- Wheelchair accessible lift.

During October to December 2010 the portal database supplied on average 300 live events at any one time to the Visit Manchester DMS.

Cornerhouse is situated in Manchester City Centre at the cross roads of Whitworth Street and Oxford Road a 5 minute walk from St Peter’s Square in the direction of the Universities. A Sainsbury’s supermarket, the Palace Theatre and Palace Hotel are on the three adjacent corners.
By train: The nearest station is Manchester Oxford Road.
By Metrolink: The nearest stop is St Peter’s Square.
By bus: Cornerhouse is on one of the main bus routes to Manchester City Centre. There are too many buses for us to list - almost all buses between Piccadilly Gardens and south Manchester go directly past Cornerhouse.
By car: Manchester is easily accessible from motorway networks including the M60 ring road and Cornerhouse is located in the city centre. There is a 24 hour NCP car park on Whitworth Street, behind the Palace Theatre which is diagonally opposite Cornerhouse. In conjunction with NCP, Cornerhouse can offer its customers a discount at this car park: bring your parking ticket for validation at Cornerhouse's Box Office and you pay only £2 for the first 2 hours.
