Manchester Camerata - Mozart And Prague

Mozart was not always at home in the traditional centres of music across Europe, but had such a close rapport with the city of Prague that he once famously said that 'my Praguers understand me'.

Manchester Camerata present a concert that provides a chance to hear some of Mozart’s most popular and enduring works, which have a connection with Prague, under the baton of the charismatic Spanish conductor Jaime Martin. Camerata’s principal clarinettist, Fiona Cross, brings her outstanding musicality and virtuosity to Mozart’s ever-popular Clarinet Concerto.

A feature of the new Camerata season is that exciting new work, by contemporary composers, will take their place alongside the programme of great composers' masterpieces.  A new piece from young composer Gavin Higgins (who studied at the RNCM as well as Chetham's), entitled Reflections On Prague, will receive its première as part of this concert.

Concert takes place in the RNCM Concert Hall.
