Shipshape Saturday
Shipshape Saturdays are packed with family fun – from craft to theatrical performances. Including: -
- Make your own Hide and Seek Sailor Toy (5th and 19th March)
- Sailor’s Secret Store – decorate your own treasure chest ‘ditty’ box (12th and 26th March)
- Watery Weavers - While at sea, sailors would be expected to do their own sewing and were issued ‘ditty bags’ to keep their sewing kit in. Get hands on with a genuine Second World War ‘ditty bag’ and try your hand at some woven crafts and create your own unique paper-weaving panel in our fun craft activity. (2nd and 9th April)
- Get a feel for historic naval items in our object handling sessions.
- Watch dramatic films and footage from Imperial War Museum’s Archive.
- Follow the trail to explore even more remarkable objects from war at sea, on permanent display in the Main Exhibition Space, by picking up a family friendly gallery pack.
