Go See This contributor Shannon Taylor introduces us to Odeon Event Cinema and the opera, ballet and theatre productions set to be broadcast live to cinemas across the country.
Hands up if you have never heard of Odeon Event Cinema. Most people know that Odeon cinemas show the latest blockbusters and high concept films, however Odeon offers much more than the biggest summer action flick. Usually cinemas are seen to cater only for film fans but with this event the fans of every other art form get a look in too.
There really is something for everyone with Event Cinema, it features recorded and live concerts, opera, ballet, theatre and much, much more. Therefore, for all you culture buffs who cannot make it to Andre Rieu’s next concert, fear not as you can catch it at Odeon Warrington on 28 and 29 July. Other exciting events popping up in the next few months include; Muse Drones World Tour (12 July), National Theatre Live shows including Julie and The Madness of King George III (6 September and 20 November), Oscar Wilde Season (9 October), and a plethora of live Royal Opera House and Royal Ballet shows (28 October till the end of 2019).
It can be difficult (and expensive) to travel and attend the theatre or ballet as often as you may like. However with Odeon’s wonderful Event Cinema it makes experiencing the arts so much easier and accessible to everyone. Odeon cinemas in Crewe, Liverpool, Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester city centre and across the North West will be screening productions. Visit the Odeon Event Cinema website for more information on what is being screened and showtimes/dates. Odeon always have exciting events going on in the background behind the blockbusters. They are well worth keeping your eye on!
